Yüz iki yaşında vefat eden Rahmetli saraç Lütfü Büyükkoç amcamız, vefatından önceki bir ziyaretimde.
—Evlat At murattır, Berekettir, imkânı olan mutlaka evinde At bulunduracak, atı olmayanlar At besleyenlerin atını her sabah görüp, sevip öyle işine gidecek.
—Evlat atınla konuş. At, bütün lisanları bilir ve anlar sen yeterki ilgini ve sevgini anlat, konuş onula. Dedi ve bunu hiç unutmadım.
İlerleyen günler bunun doğruluğunu ispat etti, aramızda sevgiyle büyüyen müthiş bir bağ oluştu. Atıma hiçbir zaman vurmadım, kamçı kullanmadım. Yağmur beni sesimden tanırdı adını bilirdi, terlediği zaman kulaklarını koltuk altlarımda kurular, gömleğimin düğmeleri acıttığı için, başı ile beni döndürür alnını sırtımda kurulardı. Neşesi olmadığı zaman sırtına binilmesinden hoşlanmaz beraberce yürümeyi severdi. Acemileri kadın ve çocukları bindirdiğimizde onların korkularını kalp atışlarından anlar sakinleşirdi.
Hâsılı yağmur at gibi attı.
Sabah ezanları okunmuş, erkekler camideydi, yola çıkmaya hazırdı, sabah namazına camiye giden erkekler, karşılarına kadın çıksın istemezlerdi, çocukların aşını hazır etti, dönünceye kadar evde kalmalarını tembihledi, onlarda annelerinin sıkça bağa gitmesine alışmışlardı. Acele ile çarşafına büründü iç içe koyduğu iri çuvalları omuzladı, belindeki altıpatları yokladı ve hızlı adımlarla yola koyuldu.
Yol uzundu, camilerin cemaati dağılmadan şehirden çıkmalıydı.

AV TÜFEĞİ KESME KURŞUNLARI: Av tüfeklerinde kullanılan tek parça kesme kurşunlar, ilk defa balkabağı şeklinde ham kurşundan yuvarlak olarak hazırlanıp kullanıldı. Bunlara misket mermiler denildi bu mermileri atan tüfeklere de misket tüfekleri dendi. Bu tüfekler kısa ve uzun düz namlulu olarak üretildi ve uzun bir müddet kullanıldı.
